SiteCom was founded by Kenneth W. Smitherman. Smitherman holds an
MA & BA in Communication from The University of Alabama and has over 30
years of experience in the audio/visual and communication field. In 1989, after
years as a performing musician and recording engineer, Smitherman moved into
the design of recording and video post-production facilities. Kenny's
training included a working knowledge of acoustical treatment, noise control,
lighting, video and audio electronics. His experience also created a demand
at the college level to teach this subject to communications students. During
this time and with the opening of the professional studio in the West Alabama
area, Smitherman became involved with the design and installation of A/V equipment
for other interested clients who owned local restaurants, lounges, small project
studio and churches. His integrity, dependability, determination, faithfulness
and an uncompromising drive for excellence stimulated him to move into a more
challenging area because of an ever changing world governed by technology. It
was now clear that his own design business was on the horizon and SiteCom Technologies
was born.
